Getting a Big, Fluffy, White Robe
Perhaps the best gift I’ve received all year.

Information Is Beautiful
Because I’m a sucker for a good infographic — this website has hundreds: http://www.informationisbeautiful.net.

Making Chipotle Sauce and Adding It to Like, Everything
Sour cream + a tad of chipotle peppers from a can = awesomesauce (no really, though).

Natalie Wise’s Poem “Tell Us A Story, Grandma”
So good. You can read it here.

Getting the Local Paper Each Morning
This changed my life, in all seriousness. I look forward to mornings now, largely in part due to our subscription to The Charlotte Observer. A friend recently asked me, “You are so well-informed — how is that?” Simple answer: the local paper. I cannot recommend this enough. There is a quiet power that accompanies being informed about your community and our generation is losing out big time. I feel so much more connected to my city and as a result, have a much deeper sense of place and belonging. I’m more invested. It’s totally worth it.

“How One Stupid Tweet Blew Up Justine Sacco’s Life”
Remember #HasJustineLandedYet? Yeah. Here’s the back story. A fascinating look at the human desire for public shaming and the ensuing aftermath that is often not publicized.

Hot 8 Brass Band’s “Sexual Healing” Cover
The perfect soundtrack for a snow day.
